WHO ever you are , and WHERE ever you are, say ONLY these 5 words to police if taken into custody -
Remember these five words.
This will save you in many cases.
You can be held for what seems like days and possibly be (physically and mentally) abused by the cops, but DO NOT SPEAK TO THEM other than,
even if they stop at your door and ask questions, DO NOT ANSWER QUESTIONS,
The police have stolen from my personal belongings in the past and I wonder if those items will appear in a future crime scene!

I just noticed that one of the sites I usually check is gone, so quickly searched , and due to a complaint and google blogger refusing to discuss it,
they opened another blog, which for all I know is temporary.

They may not have enough metal, or enough Canadian downloads, but that's ok, since they had enough there to get me interested!

Hear Rock City covered / covers all sorts of music, and they only shared BOOTLEGS,
not pirate recordings or legal releases.

They would take down anything if there were legitimate complaints, and there were bands from the past like STARZ that appreciated the devotion from the fans that gathered there.

No thanks to whoever tried to kill their site.
They have enough people co-operating to make their own website/forum if they wanted to (like many other ex-bloggers have done) and then nobody will be able to stop them.

CKLN Aggressive Rock 1987-09-15

I been putting this off for too long, so earlier today got around to editing.
It figures after I thought I had done it all perfectly, only to find out I made a mistake and had to scrap it and start all over again. ARGH !!!
After I watched a dvd of KOLCHAK The Night Stalker, tried again, and here you go.

Ok, enjoy, another old Aggressive Rock Radio Hour with Brian Tailor,
(the week that Metallica released a record where we could hear Jason's bass playing!)

I still have to edit the shows of CKLN 1987-06-30 and CKLN 1987-09-01 ,
another tape is on the way to me, but don't know the calendar date for it.

Ok, so I am lazy , and still have 2 or 3 more old CKLN Argh Rock radio shows to upload.
In the meantime, just received a GIANT surprise today !

This is very, very, very, VERY cool.
if you love the clean-Ozzy like warbling by Zeeb Parkes of WITCHFINDER GENERAL,
and early BLACK SABBATH (think "Paranoid", "Vol.4", "Master Of Reality" Lp's,)
and Virgina's PENTAGRAM,

Thanks to the band (via their pal, Derek Emerson) for sharing this release
with torontothrash.blogspot.com and music enthusiasts.

Let's hope they release some vinyl or cassettes!

Mainly because of the MEAT !

Dominion commercial

My family in the 1970s almostexclusively shopped at Dominion due to 2 things
1) good prices
2) good quality

I recently started The Paleo Diet (aka the caveman diet, and the hunter-gatherer diet)

I have tried being vegan/vegetarian for a very long time, with the occasional week of eggs, or canned salmon / canned tuna,  but my doctor informed me that one of my health problems is because I am not getting enough protein, and what I need could only come from eating MEAT.
so, started firing up the electric grill, and no more frying!
So yeah!  MORE fish, and MORE chicken, MORE eggs, and MORE red meat !

See, what happens when you listen to liberal, new age, tree hugging, punkrock hippy, wimpmetal, tiptoe through the tulips playing folk music is the following !

(Jim Carrey acting like that annoying guy you have to deal working at a gov't office)

How to Make Paleo Salad Dressing
and, yeah, still have to eat veggies.
Cut out the carbs, but load up on the "rabbit food" as Brian Tailor used to call it.

Drool dripping out my tongue
hanging south, saliva flowing free
My eyes full of lust my balls gonna bust,
give yourself to me
Thirst I can't quench c'mere you wench,
there's something that I need

I'm a meat eater
I'd like to meet ya
I know I'll reach ya

The hunger I feel makes you a meal,
oh girl you sure taste sweet
By my hair pull me there guide me to your treat
spread your legs I'll seed your eggs oh, feel me deep

I'm a meat eater
I'd like to meet ya
I know I'll reach ya

Lick me she begged, she pulled down my head,
I love to eat pussy
A taste so fine like sweet april wine,
I won't trade for any money
Did you cum I eat and run I live for sodomy

I'm a meat eater
I'd like to meet ya
I know I'll reach ya

I'm a meat eater
I'd like to meet ya
I know I'll reach ya

fans of early Slayer and Dark Angel's first album will love this tape.
The internet says this came out in 1987, but pretty sure I bought the tape at The Record Peddler (on Carlton Street) around November/December 1986.

BEFORE this demo tape, they had another recording that was BRUTAL !
Done on a 4-track recorder I think...and probably when Rick Nemes was still on drums.
I only heard one song on a metal radio show, but it was heavy and gritty and EVIL, like SLAYER's "Haunting The Chapel" record.
Too bad their sound was cleaned up on "Unholy Alliance".

NOTE: I was told the set was closed off with the fastest and tightest cover ever by anyone of SLAYER's "Chemical Warfare", but the original uploader did not include it.

Maybe the original guy recording it at the bar had ran out of tape?
Will guess this gig was at Larry's Hideaway, until I find a ticket or flyer that says otherwise.

Thanks to the original uploader (Strad from IMPALER ?)
EDIT: July 2nd, 2014
There has been some rumbling the past week on facebook about Lethal Presence.
RE:  Sacrifice Sucks Canada facebook group
I won't add fuel to it, as "Unholy Alliance" was one of the best tapes I ever owned and played almost religiously daily back in 1986-1987,
along with Malhavoc's 1986 "Age of The Dark Renaissance" demo,
SACRIFICE's "Torment In Fire" LP,  and
SLAUGHTER's 1984+85 demos/rehearsals, live tapes + "Nocturnal Hell" 7" single..
(The only thing that TOPPED that stuff? maybe Wendy O. Williams in that PLAYBOY spread ??)

Yeahhhhh bud! Thanks to a member who reads this blog, he has searched and sent over these rehearsal tracks. They are GREAT QUALITY and in league with many of the famous thrash metal / death metal rehearsal demos of the 1980s!

If you like Slaughter (Scarborough), early Sacrifice (Scarborough), Necromancy (Hamilton), Celtic Frost 'Morbid Tales'-LP, Nuclear Assault, and of course Prophecy (also from the Newmarket area, who MORTUARY were friends with), you are going to love this barely known and heavy-duty forgotten underground band!

Vocals are sick ! Deathy and croaked!

No logo or artwork yet, hopefully that wiill be discovered too.
Will post more info soon...will hopefully get an interview too... think that should go in the zine though.

First thing I noticed when the song,"The Omen" started, was it sounded like the original version of Malhavoc's "Deathtrance" riff, (before they changed it for the album recording)(BUT highly doubt either band heard of the other one back then),
and that the drumming speed was similar to DARK LEGION in 1987 after D.L. slowed down a bit and dropped the speedcore blurs.

Necromancy (Can) rehearsal and demos, Hamillton death thrash

dead links, not re-uploading them for now.
What have you done for me lately?

I'm missing the demo cover for In The Eyes of Death, but the art taken from Montreal's United Throng zine is very close.
This dirty sounding Hamilton thrash metal demo band was a favourite among me and all my friends.
We thought it was neat they used a similar Sacrifice riff in Evil Possession, I thought it was cool an out of town band paid homage to our local band who was getting famous.

They also released a demo in 1988, was grittier sounding, and vocals/production was closer to Possessed. They re-recorded Path To Eternal Death, and maybe another song. (Another cassette I wish I had, I had YYY (YouthYouthYouth) demos recorded on the B side, but think they were released on the Repackaged LP.

I always considered them death metal back in the day, and it was not until I got this again recently , that others say they always considered it "thrash with bad vocals, not death metal".

I thought Sacrifice were also considered black and death metal, not just thrash back then.We used to put a lot of bands under the same labels if they had lyrics mentioning death and satan.

The ONLY thing left to mention is In The Eyes of Death demo sounds like it was copied a few times, as the original copy had a warm, fuzzy, plugged in mixing board sound, was not abrasive like this.
It sounded closer to what maybe Morrisound Studios in a few years would usually make bands sound like on albums in my opinion. I am hoping to score an original, mint tape. I called Neil McNeil's parents house, and his mother was mad "That was 20 years ago! He does not play music anymore! " etc etc...it sounds like she didn't like it when he played metal...

I think Shokk from thrashmageddon originally ripped and uploaded these?

and as usual,an immense thank you to ChorazaiM from Megiddo/Sepulchre for the fanzine shares to give you thrashers a piece of history.
If not for that United Throng zine share, and it spread out, and leeched by the dipshits at Metal Archives, the rest of you would not have known what the Necromancy logo looks like!

ahem..Necromancy 1988 demo? and Domestic Violence ...

Hey, I am still wanting the song titles to the 1988 demo, the last demo, by Necromancy (Hamilton)....
somebody out there knows them.

The tape I had from the band didn't have a cover, they either had a typewritten promo sheet, or the song titles handwritten.

ALSO, another tape I want to get again is DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (from the Pickering, or Ajax, Ontario area) 1991 Better You Than Me cassette.
It might have been released by Epidemic Records. Great punk/crossover/thrash metal. I think there were 14 or 18 songs?
fuck, gimme even live or rehearsal tapes !

EDIT: got a few mp3's, but not the whole tape.
Guess I will have to hope it shows up on eBay for sale someday.

Domestic Violence - June 2nd, Pizza Pino's, Ajax,Ontario flyer ...1990 ?
(Overthrow played there once too)

PS. You know it would be cool if you were nice... maybe I could get my hands on other old, whispered about Toronto area thrash bands...

here you go , for all the cool people that have done their bit, that have shared their flyer/demo cover scans+tape rips on the internet , and all of you that reciprocate this small work,

and also, this is for the fuckin dickheads whether I like it or not, the parasites that do nothing but talk a lot, gawdam motherfuckers.

22 minutes 34 seconds

same lineup as the "In the Eyes Of Death" demo from what I remember. Last/final demo.
The original tape was released in the summer of 1988,
without a cover, just a one-sided photocopied bio/information page.
(art/logo above , is from the 1986 "In The Eyes Of Death "demo).

Sounds like this was ripped from a 10th or 2oth generation tape-traded copy.

The original tape was raw , but still heavy, like the band POSSESSED, or, imagine Toronto's SLAUGHTER or Chicago's BURNT OFFERING, if either band had their early Slayer-ish sounds fried and corroded with battery acid to sound like early BATHORY !

It might be too hard to hear, but it sound slike the drummer used roto-tom's, just like Malhavoc did in 1986-88.

Many thanks to Mark Robinson (drummer from 1980s/early 90s Ontario thrash metallers, Mortuary, for emailing these audio files to me).

Hopefully, the band leader is ok I shared this. It is at a low bitrate.

If you like a mix of black and death metal with just the small (correct) amount of grind, then this is for you.
No idea what the other albums are like though.

This  album, Envisioning the New Age is sort of similar to Toronto band HORDE OF WORMS.
Alexander "Worm" Erhardt was a member of Visions Of The Night at one time ?

Never knew they played Toronto before 1987 or 88,
when I seen them at Ildiko's. The guys in M.S.I. that time (summer 1988) were pretty happy watching them, especially drummer Tim Alchin (ex-D.O.G.) who was stage-diving which surprised Derek, he said Tim  hardly ever seemed excited.
Me personally, not as much. The PA was not loud enough, so I was like "meh".
I used to freak out and play air guitar and jump around to their Can't Close My Eyes 7" EP because it was full blast on my stereo at home.
and the PA at Ildiko's that afternoon seemed a LOT quieter!
Total bummer, I WAS looking forward to being blown away by a Youth Of Today concert.

Just discovered there is also a video recording http://youtu.be/xdDhTiRjR1c on youtube.

FYI - not sure how much you care but the info on the Youth of Today posting is incorrect.
The Ildikos show was put on by Glenn / MSI and happened in 1987 (Saturday August 22nd to be precise).
That youtube video is also incorrect - the venue is actually the Rockpile, Hamilton where YOT opened for Verbal Assault and 7 Seconds on December 12 1986.
Can't Close My Eyes just came out and the copies sold that evening didn't have labels but rather tiny pictures of Agnostic Front stuck on by YOT members.
These limited copies from that show have reported sold for $1000+ within the last 7-8 years.  I sold mine for $50 in the 90's... Boo. :(
